James Finley Dwigans

Above, James Finley Dwigans. James was born in 1840, the son of Robert Jones and Margaret (Coleman) Dwigans. James married Francis Emeline Eliot of Linn County, Iowa. In 1875 James and Frances moved to Cass County, settling in Lincoln township. James died Sept 26, 1880 at home and is buried in Lincoln Center Cemetery. Frances Emeline Eliot Dwigans

Above, Frances Emeline Eliot Dwigans, wife of James Finley. Frances was born in Linn County, Iowa, the daughter of John Clayton and Mathilda (Hutchinson) Elliott. Although Frances' father and other relatives spelled their surname Elliott, Frances went by Eliot. After the death of her husband, James Dwigans, Frances married Daniel Folsom. Frances is buried with her first husband (James) and her parents in Lincoln Center Cemetery.

Fred B., Alonzo Robert, Elnora, George Clayton, and Margaret Dwigans

Above, the children of James Finley and Frances Eliot Dwigans, circa 1880's. From left to right: Fred B. (1874 - 1962), Alonzo Robert (1866 - 1943), Elnora, George Clayton (1877 - 1950) and Margaret (1870 - 1890). Note: Alonzo chose to use his mother's maiden name as his surname. His gravestone in Tennessee is inscribed Alonzo R. Eliot.

Fred. B. & Carrie Wakefield Dwigans

Above, the wedding photo of Fred B. and Carrie (Wakefield) Dwigans. Fred and Carrie were married in 1901 and are buried in Wiota Cemetery with Carrie's parents.
