FRED STEINKE.

The House of Steinke is one of the oldest established clothing stores in Cass county. His father, Theodore G. Steinke, having for his credit a long service in this line of trade, receiving his insight with one of the largest clothing houses in Chicago. This gentleman was a firm believer in the possibilities of Atlantic and through his endeavor there stands today two representative business blocks, now occupied by Deering & Son and the Steinke Clothing Store, that add to the dignity and appearance of Chestnut street.

Mr. Steinke established his store in Atlantic in 1876 where the Westphalen meat shop now is, and the store has been in its present location since 1879.

Fred is a graduate of the high school and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor which has trained him to recognize the responsibilities of life as they devolved upon him. He is a popular member of the Elks and Woodman and is public spirited. His stock and haberdashery represent some of the best known and popular lines of goods. The trade this store employs within a radius of many miles of Atlantic is ample proof that the "House of Steinke" more than fulfills its promises to those who have the wisdom to patronize it.
