FIRE DEPARTMENT

IS WELL EQUIPPED

One of her institutions of which Atlantic is justly proud is her splendid volunteer fire department. The "fire boys" always do splendid work and no where in the state will there be found a better volunteer department than here.

The department is composed of three companies, the Whitney Hose Company, the Phoenix Hose Company and the Phoenix Hook and Ladder Company.

The accompanying pictures are of the officers of the department and of the parade of firemen at the Southwest Iowa Tourney at Red Oak last year, in which the white cross designates the Atlantic department in lin.

Just now the fire boys are hard at work with the arrangements for the Southwest Iowa tourney, which is to be held in this city July 3rd and 4th.
