CHURCHES.

Methodist Episcopal Church

METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH.

Amos F. Griffith, Pastor M. E. Church

AMOS E. GRIFFITH, Pastor M. E. Church

Atlantic has churches of nearly all denominations. The religious and spiritual needs of the people are looked after by men able in their professions and the moral tone of the community is high. The pictures of the churches and the men who fill their pulpits appear elsewhere. The churches are an attractive lot of houses of worship and the preachers, though they are too modest to admit it, taken as a whole, are a good looking bunch. All are conscientious men who labor honestly and fearlessly for the right, and find time to always say the good word for the town and her people. The denominations represented here are: Episcopalian, which is not now active; Catholic, Rev. P. Daly, pastor; M. E., Rev. A. E. Griffith, pastor; Baptist, Rev. Volck, pastor; Church of Christ, at present without a pastor; Presbyterian, Rev. John Giffen, pastor; United Presbyterian, Rev. W. S. Ritchie, pastor; German Evangelical Lutheran, Rev. Lutz, pastor; German Evangelical, Rev. Braun, pastor; Danish Evangelical Lutheran, Rev. Laursen, pastor; Congregational, Rev. H. O. Spelman, paster. The Christian Science faith is represented here also, although not with a regular pastor.
