1884 Biographies

JOHN PRINGEY


John Pringey came in the same year (1869), and also located on section 1, where he bought eighty acres of wild land. He was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, in 1844. His parents removed to West Virginia in 1847. Here he grew to manhood, and in August, 1862, enlisted in company D, Fourteenth West Virginia Infantry, serving until July, 1865, when he returned home. In 1869 he came to this county, where he has since resided. He was married, in 1873, to Anna C. Green. They have two children...Alvin and Maude. Mrs. Pringey died March 2, 1881, aged thirty-one years. In March, 1882, he was married again, to Esther L. Lewis.
