Ira and Ruth Smith

Ira Smith and his Daughter Ruth. They are at the train depot in Arcadia, Iowa, where he worked and they lived. This is around 1916/17, because Ruth and her older Sister both died in 1918 from the Spanish Flu. Their brother Earnest also worked for the railroad. Ira is the Brother-In-Law of my Great Grandmother Ethel Horton-Bradshaw. He was married to her oldest Sister Ida. This picture came from the photo album of Ethel Horton-Bradshaw. That little dog is in every picture I have of Ruth. You can't see it very well, but there is a horse drawn carriage going down the road behind them.
