Louis A. and Sophia (Wetter) Riedesel Family
"They bought a farm just north of Glidden in 1880 and it remained in the family for almost a century.
Standing in the rear of this 1897 portrait are Lillian, Arnold, Ralph and Laura. The baby on Sophia's lap is my grandfather, Arthur L. Between the parents are Walter and Beatrice. Ralph took over the farm in 1910.
Louis and Sophia were second-generation German-Americans who grew up in eastern Iowa near the town of Wheatland (Clinton County). Louis 1850-1922; Sophia 1857-1938."
