Samuel D. Henry was born in Shelby County, Indiana, in October, 1854. His mother, Mary Henry, is dead. His father, John D. Henry, lives at Coon Rapids, and is by occupation a carpenter. He remained with his parents until sixteen years old, and then learned the miller’s trade in Kansas. This business he followed for eleven years, and since then has been engaged in journalism. He came to Coon Rapids, in 1883, and has since given his time and energies to the Enterprise. He was united in marriage October 3, 1876, to Miss Mary E. Stimpson. Mr. Henry is a Republican, and a member of the Knights of Pythias.
