John H. Buttrick Newspaper unknown John H. "Hank" Buttrick, 96, of Springfield, MO., a former Sioux City resident, died Wednesday, July 13, 1994, at his home. A graveside service will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Mr. Buttrick was born Jan. 18, 1898, in Fortesque, Mo., the son of Edward and Julia Buttrick. He moved to Lake City, Iowa, in 1899. He graduated from Lake City High School and attended Capitol City Commercial College in Des Moines. He moved to Sioux City in 1918 and was a resident until moving to Springfield in April 1991. He married Mildred Stoll Oct. 3, 1926, in Elk Point, S. D. He was employed by Roberts Dairy, John Hancock Insurance Co. and for many years by Michael Leonard Wholesale Seed Co. He retired in 1962 and then worked part time at the Sioux City auditorium as a door guard for 17 years. Mr. Buttrick was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City and Messiah Lutheran Church in Springfield. He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of Masonic Landmark Lodge 103 in Sioux City. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Beth Buttrick) Tice of Springfield; a sister, Gertrude Tubbs of Las Vegas, Nev., two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Bullinger. Another article- newspaper unknown John H. Buttrick, 96, of Springfield, MO., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday at his residence.
