Rites At Lake City For Herbert Borland, 51

Lake City--Funeral for Herbert Borland, 51, was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City, Rev. William R. Green, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, officiated.

Pallbearers were Charles Lane, John Jackson, Archie Rice, Glenn Lasher, Wilbur Miller and Harry Menter. Burial was in Lake Creek Cemetery.

Herbert Emerson Borland, son of Joseph and Anna Denton Borland, was born May 22, 1908 near Lohrville. He had lived in Calhoun county all of his life. He was a mason by trade, and a member of Woodlawn Christian Church, Lake City. On April 12, 1933 he married Emily Orris. He died Aug. 20, 1959 at McVay Memorial Hospital, Lake City, after a week's illness. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, and one sister.

He is survived by one daughter, Marjorie, Mrs. Wilbur Sprague, Jefferson; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Miller, Lake City; one brother, John Borland, Radcliffe; and three grandchildren.
