Frederick Carl Frotscher

Obit........SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR FREDERICK CARL FROTSCHER
Funeral services for Fred Frotscher were held Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Church with the Rev. Charles Nettleton in charge. Pall bearers were Roy Reed, Evert Coon, Rueben Nolte, Darrel Knapp, Ted Heath of Farnhamville and Fred Krug of Rockwell City. Music was furnished by a quartet John Bassett, Karen Bassett, Carolyn Kennedy and Mark Craigmile who sang " In the Garden" and " Beyond the Sunset" with Mrs. Rudy Kail as accompanist. Mrs. E. B. Gallentine, Mrs. Melvin Johnson and Mrs. R. E. Drake were in charge of the lovely floral offerings and there was also a memorial of money for Mr. Frotscher. Interment was in the Reading Cemetery.

Fred C. Frotscher, son of George and Bertha Frotscher was born near Aledo, ILL. February 17, 1886 and passed away at his home in Farnhamville, August 25, 1954, at the age of 68 years, 6 months, and 8 days.

He moved with his parents from Illinois at the age of ten years to the farm in Greene county, Iowa and two years later moved to the vicinity of Farnhamville since his home. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church when a boy and at the time of his death was a member of the congregational church there.

He was united in marriage to Mary Green on February 17, 1913 and they moved to a farm north of Farnhamville where they lived for 31 years. To this union four children were born, all of whom with their mother survive. In December of 1943 they moved to their present home in town.

He was director of the Farnhamville Telephone company for a number of years and for the past six years has been president. For the past five years he has been employed by Nolte Brothers. He had a host of friends who will mourn his passing for Fred was a friendly person who was always ready and glad to help anyone at any time.
