Effie Ellen "Warner" Hudson Lake City Graphic OBITUARY Mrs. Effie Ellen Warner Hudson was born January 29th 1873 at Bondville, Illinois. She was converted and united with the Baptist church of which she continued a faithful member until the time of her death. She was married December 29th 1892 to W. H. Hudson at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Warner, Mahomet, Illinois. To this union were born three children: Clarence, aged six years; Wayne, aged two years, and the infant daughter Velma, five weeks old. The family removed to Lohrville, Iowa, in March, 1899, where she died Oct. 19, 1899, mourned by a host of loving and appreciative friends. She was an obedient child, a great comfort to her parents, a faithful and affectionate wife, and an indulgent and loving mother. She bore a noble Christian character, always ready in Christian work, and loved by all who knew her. Such is the brief record of a short life of less than 27 years. The funeral services were held at the home at Lohrville, Oct. 22, 1899 and were conducted by Rev. J. Roney of Lake City assisted by Rev. Spring of Lohrville. The remains were followed by a large number of sympathizing friends to their last resting place in Lake City cemetery. This is the second child that Mr. and Mrs. Warner have been called upon to mourn within a year and it is hoped it may be long before they shall again pass through such deep waters. |
