Charles Edmond Karn Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26, 1986, at Huffman Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. for Charles Edmond Karn, 82, a Glidden resident since 1930. Rev. Ray Hill officiated at the services with burial at Lake City Cemetery. Mr. Karn died Friday evening, August 22, 1986, at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City following a long illness. Charles Edmond Karn was born at Belle Rive, Illinois, on November 12, 1903, the son of Ernest Edmond and Nellie Blanch Chaney Karn. He came to Iowa and lived at Glidden where he was engaged in farming for many years. He was married to Gladys Lucille Sylvester on June 25, 1924 at Sac City, Iowa. He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Bruneau, Cedar Rapids, IA and Mrs. Rene (Katherine) Kurth, Hot Springs, Arkansas; two brothers, Donald Karn of Lake City and Leo Karn of Des Moines. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Gladys and one brother, Bill Karn. |
