Their children were Isaac, Valentine, John, Mary, Peter Marion, Joseph, and Margaret. Isaac is a mystery; he might not have moved to Iowa with the family. Valentine served in the 14th Iowa Infantry, Co. C, from 1862 to 1864. John died in Clarksville in 1864. Mary married Jesse BEST in 1856.

She died in Linn County, Iowa in 1853. In 1855 he married Sarah Ann Sparks in Tama County; she died in 1856 in Tama County, He then married Evaline Bethany Scott on Feb. 28th, 1857 in Madison Twp, Butler County, Iowa. He remained in Butler County till he died on Jun-24-1891.
