Clarksville Public Library Obituary Collection

What follows is an index to 12,551 obituaries. They date from the late 1700s to 1930 and cover all of Butler County, as well as some for residents of Bremer, Floyd, Franklin, Grundy, and Hardin Counties. Some of the oldest ones have been translated from a German newspaper. A few are from any place in the Midwest that had an Ostfriesen population, but most are from Butler, Grundy, and Hardin Counties.  In addition, the collection includes a list of 2003 obituaries.
