The following information was taken from:
Past and Present of Buena Vista County, Iowa by C. H. Wegersley and Thomas Walpole. Chicago. 1909.
The Old Settler's Association was formed in 1875-1876 at Storm Lake for "mutual pleasure
and profit". The only requirement was that one had to be a resident of the county prior to and including the year of 1870.
