Sioux Rapids

The former county seat of Buena Vista county is situated on the Little Sioux river and on the E. G. & S. R. line of the C. & N. W. Ry, 140 miles northwest of Des Moines and 20 north of Storm Lake, the seat of justice. It contains a weekly newspaper, 2 banks, 4 churches, a creamery, a flour mill, brick yards, grain elevators and several stores. Ships grain, live stock, flour and produce. Telephone connection with Alton and Storm Lake. Exp., Am. Tel., W. U. Population, 750. Mail, daily. James M. Hoskins, postmaster.
