The former county seat of Buena Vista county is situated on the Little Sioux river and on the E. G. & S. R. line of the C. & N. W. Ry, 140 miles northwest of Des Moines and 20 north of Storm Lake, the seat of justice. It contains a weekly newspaper, 2 banks, 4 churches, a creamery, a flour mill, brick yards, grain elevators and several stores. Ships grain, live stock, flour and produce.
