Frederick Theodore Clark, born in 1843, owned the livery
stable in Quasqueton. He was the grandfather of Raymond Clark, shown in front of
the stable with a toy wagon. The Clark Livery Stable was run by Raymond's father
Frank (Joe) Clark who was born in 1873. The livery stable was located one block
east of the main street in Quasqueton and still stands today (2000). The Clark
family operated the Clark Livery Stable until the popularity of the automobile
made the livery business obsolete. The Clark family still has the ledger where
the records were kept. Photographs courtesy of Dorothy Wade Clark. Picture was used courtesy of The Independence Bulletin-Journal |
