Subject: McLAURY, McCLAUGHRY inquiry
Date: 27 Jun 1998
I'm looking for references to the name McLaury & McClaughry. Robert =
Houston McClaughry (may have already been changed to McLaury by the time
they came to Iowa) (1811-1893) moved from Kortright, NY to Belle Plaine
(?), Benton Co., Iowa in 1855. 20 Sometime after 1859, he moved to Buchanan Co.
& died July 7, 1893 in Hazelton, Buchanan Co., Iowa. I believe he farmed &
practiced law (so there may be court records?) & his children attended a common
school & pre-law. His children were: Ebenezer Rowland, Margaret Findley
(Applegate), Edmund, Mary E., William Rowland, Margery Agnes, Robert Findley,
Christiana (Armstrong), Thomas Clark, Sarah Caroline (Reid), John, Arthur &
Charles (Robert H. was a lusty gent!). The latter children would have attended
school in Buchanan Co. Hope to hear from you. Thank you 20 Clay Parker 2427

any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm

Comments: SELLERS--I am looking for any information on the
Sellers family who were living in Buchanan Co. Iowa from about 1855 to
the 1880's. George died sometime between 1880 and 1885, I believe.
Eleanor (Wallick) Sellers died between 1870 and 1880. Their children
were: Jonathan, Elizabeth (married Henry Harter), David, and George.
Would love to find out dates of death for George and Eleanor, and any
other information or link to others researching this family. Thank You!
