Seth Thompson Obituary

March 7, 1894
A GOOD MAN GONE to his FINAL RESTING PLACE
*****
Seth Thompson, Sr. died in this city on the morning of March 7th. Mr. Thompson has been in feeble health for some weeks past and the day before his death was thought to be some better. The immediate cause of his death was heart failure.

Mr. Thompson was born at Brimfield, Ohio, February 28th, 1819. Moved with his parents to Indiana when a young man. Where, on the 9th of Feb. 1844, he was married to Sarah A. Barker, who lives to mourn the loss of a devoted husband, with whom she has traveled life's journey over fifty years. They came to Wisconsin in 1845, where they resided until coming to Waverly in 1866, where he has continued to reside. Mr. Thompson had twelve children. Seven are living. One sister also survives him. He has been a member of the Masonic fraternity since early manhood. He was a believer in the Christian religion, but never made a public profession by uniting with any church.  He was guided in his dealings with men by the golden rule. Thus a good citizen, a good husband, a good father has passed to his final rest.  Funeral services Friday afternoon at 2o'clok from the house.
