WPA has listed Charles Schaeffer and his son listed as buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Charles Albin Schaeffer 1839 - 18 Sep 1894 listed as a Confederate Solider.
I cannot find him in the census. Is his last name spelled correctly?

I am trying to confirm his service. I wonder where they got that information.

His son was Eugene Schaeffer 1864 - 1921

I have not been able to find them in any census and I wonder where his son was born?

Any help appreciated.
