Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona with Father Edward Girres officiating. Inurnment will be in the Corwith Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the church prior to services.

Evelyn Marie Huschka was born March 3, 1921, in Corwith, Iowa, the son of Daniel and Ethel (Green) Halligan. She grew up near Corwith. On November 18, 1941, Evelyn was united in marriage to August Huschka at the St. Benedict Catholic Church. After their marriage they farmed near Renwick and owned the filling station. They later moved to Duncombe and then back to Corwith. Evelyn worked for many years at Winnebago Industries. After August died in 1986, Evelyn remained in Corwith before later moving to Algona.

Evelyn was united in marriage to George Kunkel on June 20, 1997, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.

She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, crocheting, doing puzzles and dancing. Evelyn also enjoyed music very much and taught herself to play the organ, guitar and harmonica. She was a member of St. Cecelia Parish.

Evelyn died Sunday, February 17, 2019, at her home in Algona. She was 97. She is survived by her children, John (Vicki) Huschka of Cedar Rapids; Mary (Bob) Biede of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-children, David Kunkel; Barb and Jerry Knoll and Jolene Kunkel. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter, Ann Marie Anderson; grandson, David Anderson and a brother, Alfred "Bud" Halligan.
