Mrs. Almeda Liptrap Funeral Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Almeda Liptrap were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. Paul Williams of the First Baptist Church of Corning. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, at Corwith.

Mrs. Liptrap, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at Bethesda General Hospital, Fort Dodge, where she had been a patient since Dec. 27. Mrs. Liptrap resided at 211 North Garfield since 1943 when she retired from her farm near Corwith.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. H. L. Bradshaw, Gardena, Calif.; Mrs. Joe Wadem, Havelock; and Mrs. Reuben Peterson, Corwith. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Whetsler of Eagle Grove, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Kimball, Ventura, and Mrs. Ara Tabb of Corwith.

OBITUARY
Mary Almeda Liptrap was born August 13, 1887, at Clinton, Ill., the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Ruth Alice Sprague Whetsler. She attended school at Clinton, and grew up there. She was united in marriage to Harry Lambert Liptrap at Clinton, Ill. on February 20, 1913, and moved to the Corwith area in March of 1917. The couple farmed near Corwith until Mr. Liptrap's death in 1935. Mrs. Liptrap continued to live on the farm
until moving to Eagle Grove in 1943. She resided at her home on North Garfield Avenue until December 27, when she entered Bethesda General Hospital, Ft. Dodge. She passed away there on Thursday morning, January 21, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 8 days.

Mr. and Mrs. Liptrap had become the parents of three daughters, all of whom survive. They are Virginia, Mrs. H. L. Bradshaw, Gardena, Calif.; Ruth, Mrs. Joe Wade, Havelock; LaVerne, Mrs. Rueben Peterson, Corwith. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, one brother, Frank Whetsler, Eagle Grove and two sisters: Alice, Mrs. Walter Kimball, Ventura; and Mrs. Ara Tabb, Corwith. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Wesley and Henry, and one sister, Bertie Unger.

Mrs. Liptrap was a member of the United Brethren Church in Illinois.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 23 at 2 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Paul Williams of the 1st Baptist Church, Corning, officiated and burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Corwith.
