Services for Arthur H. Katter, Jr., 42, of Garner, who died Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Peace Reformed Church south of Garner with Rev. Steven F. Demers as officiant. Mrs. Byron Greiman, organist, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Woiwod, who sang as a duet, ushers were Gary Lenz and Jerry Kropp. Casket bearers were Graydon Lau, Robert Anderson, Velere Stromer, Dean Stromer, Dean Bertilson and Robert Legge. Burial was in Peace Reformed Cemetery at Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Arthur Harold Katter, Jr., the son of Arthur A. and Freda J. (Kyhl) Katter was born January 24, 1944 at Garner. He was baptized and confirmed at the Peace Reformed Church south of Garner. Art attended the rural schools of Hancock County and Klemme High School where he graduated in 1962.

December 1, 1967 he married Gloria J. Beisel at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mason City. They farmed southwest of Garner, which is a "century farm" all their married life. He was a member of Peace Reformed Church and had taught Sunday School.

Art is survived by his wife, Gloria; his son, Sam, at home; his brother, William Katter and his wife Alyce Ann of Garner; his sister, Mrs. Anita Broers, Jr. and her husband, Emil, of Ventura; three nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, Jan. 1, 1977 and his mother, Freda, June 1, 1986.
