Linda Jeanne Eller was born April 22, 1948 in Peoria, Illinois to Eldon and Mary (Chapmon) Eller. She graduated from Peoria Richwoods High School in 1966. She worked at a bank in Peoria many years, where she met a young man from Iowa. They were married in 1972. She wanted to move away from the big city so they moved to Iowa a few months after they were married.
At Clarion she met a Mennonite woman, Jeanne Beachy, who taught her to sew, garden, and cook creatively. She learned many skills she wanted to learn. Linda, a big city girl, would sometimes cry tears of joy while working hard canning, sewing, or even while taking care of three chickens in the basement. She had some jobs she really enjoyed and she was very active in churches for many years. When her health declined, she could not do as much, but she would spend many hours talking to people on the phone and praying for them. She had many joyful times talking to her daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and her friends, and other relatives.
Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years Larry, sons Ryan and Eric Sorenson; granddaughter Chloe; sisters Kathy Hathoway and Penny Van Zile; brother Bill Eller; and many other family members and friends. Linda is preceded in death by her mother and father Eldon and Mary Eller.
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
