G. Christinia Bruggeman, age 91, of Klemme, IA, died, Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City, IA. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM, Monday, July 3, 2017, at the Klemme United Methodist Church, Klemme, IA. The Reverend Leila Blackburn will be officiating. Burial will be in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at the United Methodist Church in Klemme, Klemme,IA and will continue one hour prior to the services at church Monday. Memorials are suggested in Christinia's name to the Klemme United Methodist Church, Klemme Fire Department, Garner Ambulance Services, her family or the donor's wishes.

G. Christinia Jensen Bruggeman was born December 10, 1925 at her parent’s home in Crystal Township north of Britt, Iowa. She attended country school District No. 2 and graduated from Britt High School in 1943. She died at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa on June 30, 2017 at the age of 91.

After graduation, she worked for different people, doing house work, and the grocery store in Crystal Lake. She attended the Upper Flat Evangelical Free Church where she played the piano at Sunday School for several years. Christinia was united in marriage to Mercer G. Bruggeman on November 17, 1946 at the Little Brown Church. They lived near Blooming Prairie, Minnesota for three years, moved to Klemme, Iowa in March 1951 where they farmed. Christinia moved from the farm into Klemme on January 16, 1999. Mercer and Christinia enjoyed trips to Hawaii and the Black Hills. Christinia also took trips to California, a cruise, many quilt shows and a bus trip to a Bill Gaither concert. She started working for Hancock County Co-Op Oil on October 1st, 1984 at the Belmond office and retired in January 2004.

She was a member of the Klemme United Methodist Church and the UMW Circle. She was a Sunday School teacher, a charter member of the Riverside Club, and a member of the Grandmother’s Club. She belonged to the Prairie Quilters of Belmond and the Klemme ladies quilt group. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club for many years. She made quilts for each of her grandchildren as they graduated from High School and each of her children received a handmade quilt.

She was preceded in death by her father Bernhard in January 1972 and her mother Anna in November 1981; her husband Mercer in 1984; her brother Robert in 1945 and her sister Edith in 2017. She is survived by her five children: Dorothy (Ed) Butler of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Calvin (Joan) Bruggeman of Klemme, Iowa, Wayne (Jennifer) Bruggeman of Klemme, Iowa, Barbara (Alan) Bredlow of Garner, Iowa, and Norman (Carrie) Bruggeman of Waterloo, Iowa. Grandchildren: Amy Butler (Lee Campbell) of Alexandria, Virginia, Lisa Butler of Griswold, Iowa, Andrew (Bobbi) Bruggeman of Garner, Iowa, Brian (Lynn) Bruggeman of Garner, Iowa, Brandon (Nicole) of Klemme, Iowa, Melissa Kaufman of Mexico, Missouri, Clarissa (Scott) Jones of Van Meter, Iowa, Patricia Bruggeman (Rick Etter) of West Des Moines, Iowa, Andrea Miller (Tory Van Hoang) of West Liberty, Iowa, Ashley Miller of Boone, Iowa, Derek (Michelle) Bredlow of Urbandale, Iowa, Jeni (Shaun) Hackman of Clear Lake, Iowa, Bret (Jennifer) Bredlow of Garner, Iowa, Nicholas (Jordan) Bruggeman of Rockwell, Iowa, Alexander (Alicia) Bruggeman of Garner, Iowa, and Eric Bruggeman of Garner, Iowa, Curtis Cox of Baltimore, Maryland and Mandy Cox of Mankato, Minnesota. Great Grandchildren: Christinia and Catherine Campbell, Seth and Kayla Butler, Maddie and Charlie Bruggeman, Kaleb Bruggeman, Reece and Kenadie Bruggeman, Danielle, Faith and Gunner Jones, Aria VanHoang, Alana and Haddie Bredlow, Jack, Kaine and Brody Hackman, Hailey, Hayden and Heaton Bredlow, Kaden, Aubrey and Brynnlee Bruggeman, Maci Bruggeman. She is survived by her brothers Nels Jensen of Britt and Edwin (Florine) Jensen of Charles City.
