CASPER NIEMAN DIES; FUNERAL SERVICES HELD

Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at United Methodist Church in Britt for Casper A. Nieman who died Sept. 10 at County Memorial Hospital here at the age of 83. The Rev. Larry Vallery, pastor, conducted the services and burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery. Casper Albert Nieman, son of Albert and Eve Borchers Nieman, was born May 18, 1902, at Kanawha and attended the county schools near there. He started farming on his own in 1926 near Kanawha. He was married to Tillie Freerksen on Dec. 20, 1927, in Kanawha, and the couple farmed in the area until 1949, when they moved to a farm north of Crystal Lake. They operated the farm there until 1968 when they moved to Britt. Casper was a member of Britt United Methodist Church and a member of Hancock County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife and family; a sister, Jennie Eekhoff of Kanawha, and two brothers, John and wife June Nieman of Kanawha and Martin and wife Joyce of Britt. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed, and two sisters, Tena Luppen and Grace Blank.
