Terry Lynn Meints, 67, passed away on January 10, 2017, at the CCU Unit at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, after a short battle with cancer. Visitation will be at the Andrews Funeral Home in Klemme on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Goodell United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 10:30 AM. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services.
Terry was born in Mason City, Iowa, on August 27, 1949, to Lenora (Larson) and Herman Meints of Klemme, Iowa. He was the youngest of three children. Terry was raised on a farm west of Klemme and graduated from Klemme Community School in 1967. He then attended North Iowa Area Community College, NW Missouri State University, Iowa State University and Buena Vista College with 3 different degrees, of which included, Computer Science, Accounting and Quality Assurance. He was married to Cheryl Schlei in 1969 and from that union they had two children, Tracy and Craig. Terry and Cheryl were later divorced. Terry worked for different businesses in the area which included Iowa Mold and Tool, Winnebago, City Clerk and Financial Advisor for the City of Klemme. What he was most proud of was farming the family farm with his son, Craig.
He is survived by his loving friend and companion of over 35 years, Dixie Revland of Goodell; his children Tracy (Frank) Marshall, Craig (Linda) Meints; his step-children Brad (Sherrie) Revland, Danette (Bob) Whitlow; his grandchildren Ben and Nate; his step-grandchildren Amy, Anna, Dimitri and Bryce; his great-grandchildren Ava and Calvin; his brother Harlan (Sherrie) Meints; his Sister-in-Law, Carol (Meints) Allen as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard and his parents, Herman and Lenora.
