November 25, 1849 --- May 1, 1897

Mrs. Mary Prull, of Amsterdam township, died suddenly at her home Sunday afternoon, May 2nd after an illness of long duration of consumption. She was born in Germany Nov. 25, 1849 and her age was therefore at the time of her death 47 years, 6 months, 7 days. She was married to Geo. Prull in May 1874. In 1880, she and her husband and family came to America, locating in Butler county, this state, where they resided until about five years ago, when they came to Hancock county, locating in Amsterdam township. Although it was known that she could never recover from her illness, her death was somewhat unexpected. She expired in her husband's arms and almost without a moment's notice that the awful moment had come. She was the mother of eleven children, all of whom, with the bereaved husband, survive and mourn the loss. The funeral took place from the German Evangelical church in Britt Tuesday afternoon. Rev. F. Christianson, of the Lutheran denomination officiating, the deceased having been an adherent of that faith and was largely attended by neighbors and friends. Interment took place at Evergreen cemetery.
