June 26, 1904 --- February 27, 1977

James W. Tindall was born June 26, 1904 at Carbon, Iowa to Charles and Emma Cordelia Carr Tindall and passed away February 27, 1977 at Britt, Iowa. He grew to manhood in the Corning area and graduated from the Corning High School. He was united in marriage to Edna A. Ernst at Shenandoah, Iowa, October 24, 1928. The couple lived for a time in Corning Iowa and Schuyler, Nebraska. In 1942 they moved to a farm near Corwith, Iowa. They owned and operated the Corwith Hardware for 15 years from 1956 to 1971. Surviving are his wife Edna; three children, Mrs. Robert (Natalie) Shipman, Oscar, and Duane, all of Corwith; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson; one brother, Vaughn Tindall of Corning; two sisters, Mrs. James (Lorene) Briles and Mrs. Wanda Tindall of Corning, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clifford Tindall, a son, James Jr. and one grandson, Timothy Shipman. Mr. Tindall was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, a past director of Corwith State Bank, and a member of the Corwith Community Club. Funeral services were held at the St. John Lutheran Church in Corwith, March 3, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. George Bauman officiating. Interment was in the Corwith Cemetery. Music was provided by Mrs. Dave Nall, organist and Don Sabbann, soloist. The grandsons were pallbearers. Honorary pall bearers were Earl Chambers, George Gaskill, Ernest Bartick, Joe Grandgenett, Leo Elbert, Harvey Hankins and Roland Hankins.
