January 18, 1946 -- April 2, 2010

Ron Cronin. Corwith, died on Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Kossuth County Medical Center, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. A private family memorial service was held Tuesday, April 6 at the United Methodist Church in Corwith. Inurnment was held at the Corwith Cemetery.

Ron was born on January 18, 1946 to Richard and Loretta (Groenewold) Cronin in Sibley, Ia and attended Melvin High School. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary (Ransom) Cronin. Together they moved to Corwith in 1975, where they owned Ron's Food Market, until recently. At the same time, Ron began farming with Don and Mike May which he continued to do through this past fall. Ron was active in the community, serving as a volunteer fireman and merchant's club member, along with helping out in any way he could. Ron enjoyed the many relationships he made during his time in business. He was devoted to his wife and kids and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandkids. He was always excited to spend time at their Lost Island lake house with family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory are Mary, daughters Diana (Joe) Youngwirth of Des Moines, Dawn (Mike) Carroll, Corwith, son Brad (Steffaney) Cronin of Clive, and seven grandchildren Mitchell and Grant Carroll, Ellie, Abbie, and Emilie Youngwirth, Emma Jo and Blake Cronin. Also surviving are his four brothers Robert Cronin of Le Mars, Rodney Cronin of Larchwood, Ray Cronin of Dawson, Minn., and Rick Cronin of Melvin, along with Mary's nine brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his father Richard and mother Loretta. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Corwith was in charge of arrangements.

CORWITH — Ron Cronin, 64, of Corwith died Friday (April 2, 2010) at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. A private family memorial service will be held, with the Rev. Denise Group officiating. Burial will be in Corwith Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the Corwith Community Center. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Corwith is in charge of arrangements.
