GARNER, IA — Dorothy J. Pringnitz, 91, of Garner died Tuesday (May 17, 2005) at the Hampton Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Garner with the Rev. David Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. Fourth St. in Garner, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
Dorothy June Pringnitz, the daughter of Henry and Lena (Werner) Helps, was born June 6, 1913, at Clarion. She attended school at Klemme. On Sept. 5, 1931, she was married to Ernest Pringnitz at Galena, Ill. They farmed in the Klemme and Garner areas. After Ernest passed away in 1974, she moved to Garner. In 2003, she moved to Prairie View Apartments in Garner. Dorothy enjoyed her family, flowers, cooking, baking and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner and UMW.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Beverly Klein and her husband, Raymond, of Hampton; her son, Roger H. Pringnitz of Fayetteville, Ark.; her daughter-in-law, Jean Sheets and her husband, Eldon, of Britt; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; parents; a son, Raymond D. Pringnitz, in 1995; three grandsons, Dan Pringnitz, Glenn Klein and Michael Pringnitz; and two brothers: Harlow and Dwight Helps. Cataldo Funeral Home.
