Clear Lake- Lorraine Arlene Buseman-Rooks-Woiwod 78, of 904 South 14th Street died Wednesday (September 28, 2005), at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. Funeral service will be held 10:30A.M. Saturday October 1, 2005, at the Zion Lutheran Church 112 North 4th Street, Clear Lake, with Lay Assistant Richard Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Klemme Cemetery, Klemme. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 P.M. at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake. Memorials may be directed to the Lorraine Woiwod Memorial Fund.

Lorraine Arlene Eden was born November 5, 1926, in Titonka, the daughter of Enno and Lena (Stohr) Eden. Lorraine attended the Clear Lake Schools and worked in the Clear Lake area at different jobs. She was united in marriage to Wayne Buseman on August 24, 1946, in Clear Lake; to this union one daughter was born, Connie. After they were married they moved to the Klemme area. In 1961, they moved to Preston, IA, where she started working as a Lab Tech for Minetz Creamery. Wayne died June 7, 1967. Lorraine moved to Mason City, where she started working for State Brand Creamery and then St. Clair Starks as a seamstress. Lorraine was united in marriage to Raymond Rooks on November 1, 1969, in Nashua. They lived on a farm south of Clear Lake. She was a homemaker and helped with the farm work. At the farm Lorraine loved hosting meals, and big parties. Together they went camping and traveling all over. They wintered in Florida for many years. They belonged to the Muddy Pond CB Club. Lorraine and Raymond loved to go dancing at the Surf, in Clear Lake. Raymond died April 29, 1989. Lorraine continued to live on the farm until later in 1989; she moved to Clear Lake. She was united in marriage to Ronald Woiwod in June of 2000. Lorraine loved sewing, camping, dancing, socializing, cooking; her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. She was member of the VFW Auxiliary, Mason City and Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter Connie (Wayne) Pals, of Thornton; step-daughter Valera Rooks-Coyier-Hovelson, of Clear Lake; grandchildren Chad (Paula) Pals, of Britt, Lisa (Curt) Studer, of Clear Lake; step granddaughter Dawn (Jody) Coyier-Brosdahl, of Gretna, NE; along with 6 other Step- Grandchildren; several Step-Great Grandchildren; sisters Clara Nelson, of Mason City, and Vera Osnes, of Covina, CA; Special dogs Buddy and Ming; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Wayne Buseman and Raymond Rooks; one infant sister; sisters Caroline Tool; brothers Henry and Geard Eden; and step-daughter Ramona Calhoun; step- grandson Randy Coyier; step son-in-law James Hovelson, and two brother-in-laws, Vernell Tool and Leonard Nelson.
