CLEAR LAKE, IA - Margaret Pauline Terhufen, 92, of Clear Lake, passed away on Saturday (July 27, 2002) at the home of her sister where she had resided for the past year. Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Ell Township Cemetery at Klemme. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.

Margaret was the daughter of Ben and Tena (Lambert) Nieman. She was born Feb. 5, 1910, in Kanawha, where she grew up and graduated from high school. On May 28, 1935, Margaret was united in marriage to Glen Terhufen in Faribault, Minn. Together they made their home in Klemme and Clear Lake. They were the parents of two sons, Roger and Warren. Glen passed away on Dec. 25, 1978. Margaret was a knowledgeable, avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Atlanta Braves. She was very devoted to family, enjoyed family gatherings, and the companionship of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Bud Nieman; and three sisters, Mildred Smith, Ann Nieman and Judy Thieman. Margaret is survived by one sister, Naomi "Toby" Brandt, her sister, her friend, and her loving caregiver. Also surviving are her sons and their wives, Roger and Carol Terhufen, of Bettendorf, and Warren and Pauline Terhufen, of Payson, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Todd, Lori, Christa and Jill; and 12 great-grandchildren. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.
