Chris and his family moved to Corwith in 1948, where he farmed with his uncle Bill and Bill’s wife, Esta, on the land he later purchased and still owns. In 1979, he and Vivian built a home in Corwith and moved. Vivian later became ill and died in 1981. Chris was married to Carol Fox Nuehring on Feb. 14, 1982 in Klemme. As he moved toward retirement, Chris enjoyed golf, especially with Carol, and friends in Florida. Travels included Alaska, California, Texas and many other states, visiting friends and family everywhere he went.

Chris became a resident of the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha on Dec. 27, 2004.
