A memorial service for Chris Allan Schulz, 51, will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Corwith with Reverend Denise Group officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Corwith Cemetery in Corwith. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Corwith Community Center in Corwith.

Chris Allan Schulz was born on March 7, 1959, at Belmond to Chris E. and Vivian Legner Schulz. He graduated from the Corwith-Wesley High School in Corwith in 1977. Chris then attended one semester at Iowa State University in Ames. After his schooling, Chris farmed with his father south of Corwith. On April 17, 1982, Chris married Julie Pearson at the Methodist Church in Klemme. They were later divorced. After his father’s retirement, Chris continued farming the family farm. Chris was a member of the Corwith United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Kossuth County Gun Club and the Hancock County Board of Review. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and playing dominos.

Chris died suddenly on Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. He was 51. Surviving are his children, Chris M. Schulz, Hardy, Deanna Chrisman and husband, Joe, Shawnee, Kan., and Devon Schulz, Peoria, Ill. Also surviving are his special friend, Veleta Mausehund, Corwith, his step-mother, Carol Schulz, Corwith, and three sisters, Nancy Noack and husband, Len, Scottsdale, Ariz., Renelda Riffe and husband, Don, Cordova, Tenn., and Mary Swensen and husband, Bruce, Scottsdale, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles and an infant sister, Ruth. Arrangements were handled by the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Corwith.
