ALTOONA, IA -Robert E. Eenhuis, 68, of Altoona, formerly of Kanawha, died early Tuesday (Aug. 25, 2009) at the Altoona Nursing and Rehab Center. A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Amsterdam Township Cemetery. Robert was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Britt to Louise (Kerch) and Carl Eenhuis. He worked more than 42 years with the Grain Elevator Co-op in Kanawha. Robert also served as a mayor of Kanawha and served his country honorably in the Army. Survivors include his nieces, Kristy Eenhuis and Brenda Schwartztrauber; and nephew, Terry Eenhuis, all of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Wayne Eenhuis.
