BRITT — Gene Keller, 75, of Britt, died Sunday (Dec. 28, 2003) at his home in rural Britt. Burial will take place in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery near Kanawha. Gene, the son of Joseph and Lila Kane Keller, was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Miller, S.D. On June 23, 1968, Gene was united in marriage with Ethel Riekens at the Methodist Church in Winnebago, Minn. Gene enjoyed caring for his vegetable and flower garden, playing pool and drawing horses.

Gene is survived by his wife, Ethel, of Britt; one stepson, Bob Riekens and his wife, Cindy, of Albert Lea, Minn.; seven stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Thompson of Britt, Theresa Eschenbaum and her husband, Lester, of Miller, S.D., LuVay Canale of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Don Keller and his wife, Alice, of Miller, S.D., Leon Keller and his wife, Terri, of Elbert, Colo., and Keith Keller and his wife, Pat, of Parker, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyn and brother Carl. Ewing Funeral Chapel.
