BURGESS DIES AFTER STROKE
Served as Goodell Bank President for Past Twenty Years

GOODELL, IA - Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home for T. R. Burgess, 71, president of the State Savings bank of Goodell, who died Sunday after suffering a stroke on Saturday. The Rev. Harry Herlein of Des Moines will officiate at the last rites. Surviving are the banker's widow and five children, Mrs. Leon Proper of Reading, Minn., Mrs. Paul Halfpop, Joseph and Betty of Goodell, and Richard of Decorah. Mr. Burgess, a retired farmer, had been head of the bank for the past 20 years.
