ARTHUR CHELSVIG

Funeral services were held March 20, 1986 at the Kanawha Lutheran Church for Arthur Chelsvig, 84, who died March 18, at the Clarion Hospital, Rev. William Perkins officiated. Burial was in Amsterdam Township Cemetery at Kanawha. Carter Ewing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Arthur, the son of Nels and Rande Anderson Chelsvig was born October 26, 1901 near Lake Cornelia. He attended the country schools near his home. He moved to Texas with his family for a short while.

He was confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church: he was united in marriage with Gladys Severson in 1923. The couple made their home on a farm near Kanawha. In 1952 they moved into Kanawha and he worked until 1977 for an insurance company.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and five brothers, one died as an infant. Surviving are his wife, Gladys of Kanawha: a son, Keith of Lawrenceville, IL; a daughter, Kae of Kanawha; eight grandchildren and a sister, Nellie Daniels of Glenwood, MN.

Casket bearers were Arlan Anderson, Larry Anderson, Dean Anderson, Merlin Zeigler, Wayne Zeilger and Lyle Zeilger
