HASTINGS, Minn. — Funeral services for B. Donald Ross will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Regina Chapel, 1175 Nininger Road in Hastings, Minn. The Rev. John Marley will officiate. Interment will be held in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will be held at the Regina Chapel for one half hour prior to the service. Correspondence for the family may be sent to the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings, Minn., 55033.

Benjamin Donald Ross was born Aug. 18, 1914, in Renwick, Iowa. At the age of three, Don moved with his parents, Benjamin A. and Della Cook Ross to Corwith. He attended Corwith schools and graduated from Corwith High School in 1931, then attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City. He assisted his father in the Quality General Store in Corwith for a time. Later, Don was employed by Mullins Hybrid Seed Corn Company in Corwith, and also as the sales manager in Britt when the company moved there. In 1967, Don became a sales representative for Waddell & Reed Mutual Fund Co. out of Kansas City, Mo., where he worked for 25 years. Don was married to Opal Hall Ross at Kanawha Lutheran Church in Kanawha on June 28, 1939. Their first home was in Corwith, and they later moved to Britt on North Main. Don was baptized and confirmed in the Corwith Methodist Church. He was an active member of the Britt community as a long time member of the Britt Rotary Club, the Britt Chamber of Commerce and the PTA where he served in many positions. He was also a member of the board of the new Britt Public Library and a very active member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt where he served as treasurer, chairman of the congregation and on several committees. Don enjoyed golfing, caring for his yard and garden, and taking trips.

He is survived by his son Vincent and his wife, Armon, of Eden Prairie, Minn., his daughter Vicki Ross Peterson and her husband, Stuart, of Woodbury, Minn., son, Vaughn R. Ross of Des Moines; grandchildren: Allyson and Timothy Czaja, Angela and Daniel Olson, Nathan Ross, Scott Peterson and Judy Stolley, Valerie and Steve Lambert and Vachelle and Cameron Johnston; also seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Clara, Eleanor, Hailey, Josie, Callie and Logan; and special relatives, Ed and Bessie Engstrom of Kanawha. He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Charlie and Clara Hall; his brother, Russell; sister-in-law, Stella Ross, and his loving wife, Opal.
