Harm Vrieze, son of Reinder and Gerdie Vrieze, was born May 9, 1905, Bellingwolde, Holland. Harm was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith and was a member of First Reformed Church, Buffalo Center, Iowa. he received his education in the schools of Holland. He came to the United States in 1929. On February 27, 1935, he was united in marriage to Jennie Luppen. They established their home in Kanawha, and Corwith communities. Their home was blessed with three sons and one daughter. In 1948, they moved near Thompson, Iowa, where they owned and operated their farm. He retired from farming in 1962, but remained on the homestead until his death. He is survived by his father, Reinder Vrieze in Bellingwolde, Holland; his wife, Jennie. His children, Leonard and his wife, Kathryn, of Lake Mills, Iowa; Duane and his wife, Evelyn of Forest City, Iowa; Darlene, and her husband Douglas Wentworth, of Forest City, Iowa; Larry and his wife, LaVonne of Kiester, Minnesota; 11 grand-children; 6 brothers, Flogert, Fokho, Gepho, Jon, Geert, Reinder, and 3 sisters, Geeshe, Jantje, Gephe, all living in Holland. Other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, 1 sister, and 1 brother.
