Clarence Vrieze, son of Linders and Gerdie Vrieze, passed away at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt, Iowa. Saturday morning July 13, 1974 following a short illness. Mr. Vrieze had been a patient at the hospital since July 9, 1974. He was born October 24, 1903 in Bellingivole, Holland, The Netherlands and was 70 years, 8 months and 18 days of age at the time of his death. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of the Britt Christian Reformed Church. He received his education in the schools of Holland. He came to the United States in 1923 and settled in Kanawha, Ia. He had farmed in the Britt and Woden areas. He retired in 1965 and moved to Britt, where he had lived since that time. He was married to Anna Luppen February 26, 1934 in Kanawha, Ia. He is survived by his wife Anna of Britt, Ia.; 3 sons, Gerald and his wife Virginia of Britt, Ia., Calvin and his wife Lorrene of Woden, Ia. and Kenneth and his wife Sharon of Thompson, Ia.; 9 grandchildren; his father, Linders Vrieze in Holland; 6 brothers and 3 sisters, all living in Holland; 1 brother, Harm Thomson, Ia; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and 1 sister.
