Funeral services were held Friday, June 15, 1979, at 11:00 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Britt for John William Frederick Knoedler, 88 of Britt. Mr. Knoedler died Wednesday, June 13 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha.
the services were conducted by Rev. Bernard G. Olson. Mrs. Ralph Hodson was the organist and accompanied Eugene Guenther, soloist, who sang, "the Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden".
Ushers were Robert Hiscocks and Clarence Horstman. Casket bearers were Daniel Hampe, James Hampe, Jerry Ingvall, Scott Ingvall, Keith Knoedler and Laurel Knoedler.
Burial was at 2:00 p.mm. Friday in the Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion, Iowa with the Carter-Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

John Knoedler was born February 19, 1891 at Williams, Iowa. He was the son of John and Bertha Knoedler. He received his education in a rural school in Wright County. He spent his life working as a farmer and carpenter. He was united in marriage to Cora Willson. The family lived in the Galt, Dows and Clarion communities before moving to Britt in 1928.
Besides both parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cora, who died February 2, 1964; one brother and one infant son. He is survived by two sons; Elmer of Clarion, IA and Kenneth of Johnson City, Tenn.; and by four daughters; Mrs. Keota Rasmuson of Britt, Janice (Mrs. Ewald Schubert) of Waverly, IA, Janetta (Mrs.John Pierce) of Springfield, Ill., and Dorothy (Mrs. Donald Larson) of Britt. There are 11 living grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and the families of these mentioned, as well as other neighbors and friends. At the time of Mr. Knoedler's death he was a member of the United Methodist Church of Britt.
