Minnie Veldhouse, daughter of Peter and Mary VanDusseldorp, passed away Tuesday evening, August 20, 1974 at the Belmond Community Hospital, where she had been a patient since July 28, 1974. She was born Oct. 14, 1897 at Prairie City, Ia. and was 76 years, 10 months and 6 days of age at the time of her death. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kanawha, Ia. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and was very active in all church work. She received her education in the Prairie City, Ia. schools and with her parents came to the Kanawha area in 1910. She was married to John Veldhouse January 22, 1915 in the Parsonage of the Wright Christian Reformed Church near Kanawha. They farmed in the area until 1953 when they retired and moved to Kanawha.

She is survived by 1 son, Marion Veldhouse of Clarion, Ia.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jennie) Arends and Mrs. Ben (Pearl) Wilkenson, both of Kanawha, Ia.; 3 brothers, Jake and Engel VanDusseldorp, both of Britt, Ia. and Leonard VanDusseldorp of Las Vegas, Nev.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Theona Folkerts and Mrs. Irene Weiland of Britt, Ia., Mrs. Evelyn Nelson and Mrs. Ed Anderson of Kanawha, Ia.; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1964, 2 great grand-daughters, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
