Edward Lewis Stupka, 83, Kanawha, died April 29, 2002, at the Kanawha Nursing Home. Services were held May 2, 2002 at the Holmes Baptist Church with interment in Amsterdam Cemetery at Kanawha. Edward, the son of Anton and Christina (Hejlik) Stupka was born near Lawler, Iowa on February 2, 1919. In 1920, he moved with his parents and sister, Rose to Wisconsin where they purchased a farm and lived for 15 years. Ed attended grade school and high school in Colby. In 1936 they moved to the Goldfield/Eagle Grove area where Edward worked as a farm hand. In 1940 he married Fern Vroman of Goldfield and they were engaged in farming. In later years, Edward worked at Broshar Implement as a salesman. The Stupka's had two sons, Marvin and Wayne. Edward and Fern lived in the retirement apartments in Kanawha. He was reared in the Catholic faith as a child, later attending the Baptist Church at Goldfield and then joined the Baptist Church in Holmes. He served as a deacon and received a plaque for over 40 years as senior usher.

Preceding him in death were his wife, his brother, Frank and his wife, Rose, and his sister, Rose Unger and her husband, Harry. He is survived by son, Marvin and his wife, Mary of Kanawha, son, Wayne of Kanawha, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
