Another Wright County Pioneer Joined the Ranks of the Silent Dead

Reached Ripe Old Age of Eighty- Six Years-Was a Highly Respected Lady

Monday noon as Aunt Julia Fox attempting to get from her bed into her invalid chair to go to the table for dinner she fell and bumped her head on the floor. Upon being placed back up- on her bed she immediately told her relatives that she was going to die and asked that they all be called so she could bid them farewell. From all appearances the old lady was not badly i hurt and seemed to be none the worse for the fall. She had always said that when she died it would be from an accident--and in an hour from the time she fell the last vital spark had flown and death had entered.

The deceased was born in Genesee county, N. Y., May 20, 1827, and at the time of her death on Sept. 15, 1913, was 86 years, 3 months and 26 days of age. Her maiden name was Julia Bordwell. She moved to this county in 1870 from Rockford, Ill., and had resided here over since, being a real pioneer and living during a period of great transformation in this part of the country. For some years she had been blind and her greatest pleasure was the visits and conversation with her friends and relatives. While being practically helpless she was, very cheerful and uncomplaining about her condition and greatly appreciative of everything done for her.
It is not known that the fall caused her death, but the old frame was feeble with age and a very little incident might cause death. She is survived by a brother, Wm. Bordwell of Rice Lake, Wis., and two sons, Marvel E. Shaw of Minneapolis, Minn., and George T. Kinson of this city.
When a young woman: Mrs; Fox moved to Illinois, where she was married to Wm. Shaw. She was later divorced from her first husband and on March 24, 1852 was married to Lewis Kinson at Spring, Ill., now Belvidere. Dec. 23, 1862, Mr Kinson passed away in hospital at Louisville, Ken., and on Feb. 22, 1870, at Rockford, Ill., she and Austin S. Fox were united in marriage. They came to Lincoln township this county, the same year and in 1893 moved to Clarion
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church yesterday after- noon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. N. H. Gist, after which interment was made in Clarion Evergreen cemetery.
Although she lived beyond the years of most people, death is sad and the bereaved ones have the sincere sympathy of many friends.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Orris Fox of Woodbine, W. W. Bordwell of Rice Lake, Wis., A. L. Kinson and family of Irwin, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Mabbot of Webster City, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Bangs of Dows, M. W. Fox of Des Moines, M. E. Shaw of Minneapolis, Minn.
