Funeral Services Held
for Mrs. Roy Westray
The community was shocked last Tuesday to learn of the death of Mrs. F Roy Westray at Clarion. Funeral services were held Thursday after- a noon at 2:00 o'clock from the Congregational church with Rev. J. L. I Kemp in charge. Interment was made at Clarion. Her many friends extend sympathy to the sorrowing family.Orpha Westray Obituary
Orpha Moore Van Hooger was born in Gainesboro, Jackson county, Tennessee, on April 10, 1907, and A passed away at Clarion, Iowa, July a 14, 1936. At the age of 14 she joined the Christian church by baptism. She was united in marriage to Roy Westray on Dec. 22, 1922 at Springfield, Tenn. To this union four children were born. One child died in infancy.
In 1926 she came to Dows with her husband where they made their home until 1928. They then moved to Rowan where they remained.
Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her passing, three daughters, Rosetta, Barbara, and Nadine, her father, Moore Van Hooser
in California, four brothers and one sister in California, one sister in Tennessee, and one sister Mrs. Marjorie Anderson of Rowan, and a host W of friends.
