May 10, 1949 ---- June 15, 2022

Rockwell City, Iowa – Thomas I. Maulsby III 73, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. In honor of Tom’s wishes, following his gift to Iowa Donor Network, he will be cremated and there are no formal services. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family.

Tom is survived by his wife Joyce; sons, Tim (Darcy) Maulsby of Bondurant, and J. (Darcy) Maulsby of Lake City; granddaughter Peyton Maulsby of West Des Moines; his mother Lois Maulsby of Rockwell City; sister Christine (Steve) Bergum of Greenacres, WA; and other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas “Tim” Maulsby Jr.

Thomas Irvin Maulsby III was born May 10, 1949 at Lake City, Iowa. He graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1967. In 1971, he was united in marriage to Joyce Schultz at Eagle Grove, Iowa. The couple established their home in Rockwell City. Tom farmed with his father for a short time before going into law enforcement. He later sold insurance in the area before returning to law enforcement, until his retirement.
