Stanley L. Boelman, 64, Ankeny, died unexpectedly at his home on April 24, 2016.

Stanley Lynn was born November 24, 1951 in Belmond to William (Bud) and Marie (Dorenkamp) Boelman. He attended school in Belmond, graduating from Belmond High School with the class of 1970. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1974 with a degree in ag education.

Agriculture was a big part of his early life, raising pigs and farming with his parents. He participated in FFA for many years and was very proud of that involvement and his leadership roles. His love of agriculture carried over through most of his career.

In 1979, among a gathering of friends in Clear Lake, Stan met Linda. They were united in marriage at First United Methodist Church in Mason City on April 19, 1980. Stan and Linda became the proud parents of Michelle and Steven.

Stan spent hours playing softball or basketball with Michelle on the weekends when he was home from his job that required a lot of traveling during the week. He always admired his son’s ability to look at anything from the outside and know how to tear it apart, fix it, and put it back together. He worked hard to provide for his family and allow his wife to stay home and raise their kids, which was important to both of them.

Stan worked for over 20 years at Moorman Manufacturing, where he was proud to work with customers and co-workers for many years. He loved leading people through educational sessions and working with people one-on-one to find solutions. He later moved into construction sales and project management at SPF Builders and was currently working at Dean Snyder Construction where he had been for 15 years.

Stan is preceded in death by his first wife Linda; his father Bud; and his in-laws. He is survived by his wife Sheri; mother Marie Boelman of Belmond; his daughter Michelle (Bryce) Rosel and their family of Waukee; and his son Steve (Angela) Boelman and their family of Mason City.
